David is Anointed King

2:1 Afterward David inquired of the Lord, “Should I go up to one of the cities of Judah?” The Lord told him, “Go up.” David asked, “Where should I go?” The Lord replied, ¹  “To Hebron.”

2 Samuel 7:10

7:10 I will establish a place for my people Israel and settle ²  them there; they will live there and not be disturbed ³  any more. Violent men ⁴  will not oppress them again, as they did in the beginning

2 Samuel 9:10

9:10 You will cultivate ⁵  the land for him – you and your sons and your servants. 10:19 When all the kings who were subject to Hadadezer ¹³  saw they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with Israel and became subjects of Israel. ¹⁴  The Arameans were no longer willing to help the Ammonites.

23:20 Benaiah son of Jehoida was a brave warrior ¹⁹  from Kabzeel who performed great exploits. He struck down the two sons of Ariel of Moab. ²⁰  He also went down and killed a lion in a cistern on a snowy day.

2 Samuel 24:16

24:16 When the angel ²¹  extended his hand to destroy Jerusalem, the Lord relented from his judgment. ²²  He told the angel who was killing the people, “That’s enough! Stop now!” ²³  (Now the Lord’s angel was near the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.)

2 Samuel 24:21

24:21 Araunah said, “Why has my lord the king come to his servant?” David replied, “To buy from you the threshing floor so I can build an altar for the Lord, so that the plague may be removed from the people.”
